In Hebammenkreißsälen betreuen Hebammen selbstständig und eigenverantwortlich gesunde Schwangere und Gebärende vor, während und nach der Geburt. Der Hebammenkreißsaal ist in Deutschland ein noch relativ neues Versorgungskonzept – der erste wurde 2003 eröffnet. Es stellt sich die Frage nach der Qualität dieser Form der Versorgung. In einer Bachelorarbeit wurden die Daten des Hebammenkreißsaals der Universitätsklinik Bonn ausgewertet.
