Welcome to this special issue of Journal of Pediatric Neuroradiology (JPNR) focusing on pediatric head and neck imaging. Our goal during preparation was to address the intersection of neuroradiology, pediatric radiology, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, and pathology.

Contributions by experts featured in this issue share a common theme—improving the care of our pediatric patients presenting with signs and symptoms suggesting head and neck pathology. We anticipate that it will be of great interest to any radiologist called upon to interpret imaging of the head and neck in children. We believe it will also be of great interest to clinicians in the many related clinical disciplines.

This issue represents a synthesis of efforts from well-known, prolific contributors that have published extensively on these topics. However, I am also proud to introduce works from relatively newer physicians, recently entering our amazing field with great enthusiasm. I am honored to have been able to work with all of them to create this multidisciplinary edition.

I encourage you to read and enjoy these articles for both a broad general review, as well as to hopefully learn new information that may be beneficial in your practice of caring for children.

We hope that those of you involved in pediatric head and neck imaging will come away agreeing that this dynamic issue of JPNR represents a worthwhile educational experience focusing on the role of imaging in head and neck pathology in children. Enjoy!
