Exogenous Inhibitors of Platelet Aggregation from Animal Sources[*]
On behalf of the Registry of Exogenous Hemostatic Factors of the Scientific and Standardization Committee of the International Society on Thrombosis and HaemostasisPublication History
Publication Date:
08 December 2017 (online)

Summary
This updated inventory includes all inhibitors of platelet aggregation from animal sources until mid-1999. They are proteins or glycoproteins with Mr from 5000 to tens of thousands, and inhibit platelet aggregation by different mechanisms. Most lack enzymatic activity, but some exhibit enzymatic activities, such as phospholipase A2 (PLA2), proteinase and nucleotidase.
* A detailed version of this article including 158 references, 3 Figures and 9 Tables covering over 100 inhibitors is available at http//www.med.unc.edu/isth/exogenous/exogfact.htm. We apologize to the scientists whose publications formed the basis of this paper, but due to space constraints these studies are not cited in this print version.
