Ausreichender und erholsamer Schlaf ist in jedem Lebensalter ein wichtiger Faktor für Wohlbefinden, Leistungsfähigkeit und Lebensqualität. Die Folgen eines gestörten Schlafes belasten den Betroffenen, seine Familie und seine Betreuungspersonen. Gerade in einer alternden Gesellschaft steigt die Zahl der Menschen mit Multimorbidität, Pflegebedürftigkeit, Heimunterbringung und Demenz-Syndromen. Hier stellen Schlafstörungen eine diagnostische und therapeutische Herausforderung dar.
