Zusammenfassung

Es wird von einen 17-jährigen Patienten mit chronischer Hepatitis C berichtet, der erfolgreich “off-label“ mit pegyliertem Interferon alfa-2a in Kombination mit Ribavirin behandelt wurde. Anhand der guten Resultate ist diese Kombinationstherapie mittlerweile empfohlener Standard bei Erwachsenen mit chronischer Hepatitis C. Es ist davon auszugehen, dass dieses Therapieschema in den nächsten Jahren auch für das Kindes- und Jugendalter als “Leitlinie“ übernommen wird. In Vergleichsstudien muss noch geklärt werden, ob pegyliertes Interferon alfa-2a im Vergleich zu pegyliertem Interferon alfa-2b therapeutische Vorteile bietet.

Summary

We report on a 17 year old adolescent with chronic hepatitis C infection, who was successfully treated “off label“ with pegylated interferon alfa-2a in combination with ribavirin. In adults with chronic hepatitis C this combination is meanwhile the standard treatment. According to its good efficacy the regimen will probably be adapted also for children and adolescents with chronic hepatitis C during the next years.
