We present the case of a 23 year old woman suffering of an enophthalmus and diplopia mimicking a fracture of the floor of the orbit. A suitable trauma was definitely not to be remembered. We performed a transconjunctival exploration of the floor of the orbit. The altered bone was removed and reconstructed by PDS®-foil. The histopathologic examination showed an intraosseous haemangioma. The most common manifestations of this benign neoplasia in the craniofacial skull are indolent swellings. In our case the functional restrictions were the most prominent consequences, which were to be corrected by surgery.
In the follow-up our patient showed no recurrent desease or lasting symptoms.
