Revista de la Sociedad Chilena de Ortopedia y Traumatología (RCHOT) is the official publication from Sociedad Chilena de Ortopedia y Traumatología (SCHOT) since 1953. RCHOT publishes original works, case reports and reviews from orthopaedic surgeons, residents, and from other specialties in the Chilean community. In 2017, RCHOT started to be published online, increasing its international visibility, and receiving papers from authors all across Latin America.

We are pleased to announce the bilingual edition of RCHOT, both in Spanish and English, from this issue on. This will increase our internationalization process, since RCHOT will be attractive not only for Hispanic-American authors, but also for those seeking a publication open to the global community. This great advance results from years of work by the RCHOT Editorial Committee, supported by the Board of Directors from SCHOT, to have a prestigious international editorial platform such as Thieme. In the near future, we hope that this progress will lead to the expected indexing of our journal and, later, its impact factor.

This support from SCHOT includes an economic effort to publish an open access journal through Thieme, in addition to research grants from the Investigational Committee to multiple partners and their working groups. Likewise, the SCHOT Board of Directors has defined multiple ways to stimulate the publication of the best papers presented at our Annual Congress, so that RCHOT reflects the best of the national scientific production in our specialty.

I would like to congratulate the Editorial Committee, and also give a special recognition to the Director of RCHOT, Dr. David Figueroa, for this great progress of our journal, reflected by our first bilingual issue. In addition, I invite all our partners, doctors in training and colleagues to continue sending their communications to our journal, RCHOT.
