Background
Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil, Covis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Zug, Switzerland) is one of a number of systemic medications that may cause retinal toxicity. Patients on long-standing Hydroxychloroquine should have regular medical examinations by an ophthalmologist to screen for maculopathy.
