Der Pyothorax gehört zu den seltenen, aber lebensbedrohlichen Notfällen in der tierärztlichen Praxis. Eine zielgerichtete und schnelle Intervention hilft, den sonst häufig letalen Verlauf zu stoppen. Im Folgenden werden Maßnahmen einer gezielten diagnostischen und therapeutischen Aufarbeitung dargestellt.
