Yuichi Mori et al. Impact of an automated system for endocytoscopic diagnosis of small colorectal lesions: an international web-based study
Advanced endoscopic imaging methods such as computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) have the potential to increase the ability to optically diagnose colorectal polyps, especially diminutive and small polyps. This study validates the efficacy of the latest CAD model for endocytoscopy (380-fold ultra-magnifying endoscopy) in more than 200 small colorectal polyps. The accuracy of CAD for the identification of neoplastic change was 89%, which helped correctly predict post-polypectomy surveillance in 96% of patients.
