Emo E. van Halsema et al. Stent placement for benign esophageal leaks, perforations, and fistulae: a clinical prediction rule for successful leakage control
This study reports the success of stent placement for benign esophageal leaks, perforations, and fistulae in 145 patients. The data were used to develop a prediction model for the success of closure by stent, including etiology, location and size of the leak, and C-reactive protein. The model performance to predict the success of stent placement was evaluated in an independent validation sample of 59 patients.
