Organhandel versus Reziprozitätsmodell

Zusammenfassung

Ausgehend von der immer größer werdenden Kluft zwischen Organmangel und Organbedarf in der Transplantationsmedizin werden zwei verschiedene Modelle für eine Steigerung der Organspendebereitschaft, die finanzielle Entschädigung (Organhandel) und das Reziprozitätsmodell diskutiert und ethisch bewertet. Als ethischer Maßstab dient dabei die unbedingte Achtung vor dem Individuum. Diese Abwägung zeigt, dass das Reziprozitätsmodell dem auch strikt auf Europa beschränkten Organhandel eindeutig vorzuziehen ist. Es lässt sich zudem problemlos in das vorhandene Allokationssystem einfügen.

Summary

We perform an ethical evaluation of two modells that promise to solve the increasing shortage of organs for transplantations: firstly, the legalisation of organ trade, and, secondly, the so called „Reciprocity Model”. Thereby unrestricted respect for the individual human being serves as the ethical standard. We conclude that the Reciprocity Model is ethically much more acceptable that organ trade even if this trade were limited to Europe. In addition, the Reciprocity Model can easily be integrated into the current Eurotransplant system of organ allocation.
