Zusammenfassung
Von Patientenseite aus fand von Mai bis Dezember 2004 eine schriftliche Umfrage im Deutschen Zentrum für Kinder- und Jugendrheumatologie in Garmisch-Partenkirchen statt. Ziel war zu erfahren, ob beim Übergang von einer Kinderklinik in eine Einrichtung für Erwachsene Handlungsbedarf besteht. Gefragt wurde beispielsweise, ob Interesse an einer Übergangsstation für junge Erwachsene (für Patienten ab 18 bis ca. 30 Jahre) im Deutschen Zentrum für Kinder- und Jugendrheumatologie vorhanden ist oder ob die Patienten eine reine Erwachseneneinrichtung vorziehen. Die Antwort sollte begründet und Erwartungen und Wünsche an eine Übergangsstation formuliert werden. Fazit: 81 auswertbare Fragebögen von Patienten zwischen 18 und 32 Jahren ergaben, dass der Wechsel von einer Kinderklinik in eine Rheumaklinik für Erwachsene zu abrupt ist. Der Bedarf nach einer Übergangsstation für junge Erwachsene innerhalb der Rheumakinderklinik lässt sich deutlich erkennen.
Abstract
A written patient questionnaire was conducted from May to December 2004 in the German Center of Pediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The goal was to learn whether any action is needed for the transition from a clinic for children to an institution for adults. Among other questions, it was asked whether a transition ward should be available for young adults (patients from 18 to about 30 years) in the German Center of Pediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology or whether the patients prefer an exclusively adult institution. The answer should be explained, and the expectations and wishes for a transition ward formulated. Result: According to 81 evaluated questionnaires from patient between the age of 18 and 32 years, the transition from a clinic for children to a rheumatology clinic for adults is too abrupt. The need for a transition ward for young adults in a rheumatology clinic appears quite obvious.
