Summary

This is the case of a middle aged woman who had spent her life avoiding her feelings by immersing herself in spiritual philosophy. It illustrates clearly the themes of splitting off from the world, and of victim-consciousness, which are so often central to cases needing this remedy. The fact that her presenting complaints were physical reflects to me her splitting off from emotional realities.
