Laser-Assisted Resection of a Giant Pulmonary Chondrohamartoma - A Case Report
Publication History

Publication Date:

Introduction
Chondromatous hamartoma represents one of the most frequently resected benign pulmonary lesions in thoracic surgery. The technique used for resection - enucleation, wedge resection and, in the case of a large lesion, an anatomical lung resection (segmentectomy, lobectomy) - is also well known [[1], [2], [3], [4]].
We present a case of resection of a giant chondromatous hamartoma with a diameter of 15 cm and weighing 1350 g using a new 1318 nm wavelength neodymium : yttrium-aluminium-garnet (Nd : YAG) laser system.
