Abstract
An operationally simple, efficient, and considerably improved preparative procedure of poly[4-(diacetoxyiodo)styrene] (PSDIB) is reported. This procedure is performed with acetic acid, 1,2-dichloroethane, commercially available sodium perborate tetrahydrate as an oxidant, and triflic acid as an additive, and gives PSDIB after a short reaction time. PSDIB is employed as an oxidizing agent in organic synthesis and can be regenerated and reused in the same reaction.
