Abstract

Sialolithiasis can be caused by one or more stones or small concrements. They can be located in the gland itself or in its duct and can be difficult to identify by CT, MRI or sonography when they are very small. Therefore the salivary duct should be removed as a routine part of salivary gland removal. If a concrement is only located in the duct and not in the gland itself the use of CO2-Laser has proven to be a reliable in our experience.
