Recently, tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) have been used mainly for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) because of their significant side effects [5]. We report a patient whose prolonged depressive symptoms dramatically improved after the cessation of TCAs. TCAs may cause deterioration of depressive symptoms due to their neurotoxicity.
