Abstract

An efficient approach to bis([1,2,4]-oxadiazol)benzaldehydes as well as the corresponding mono-benzaldehyde derivatives has been developed starting from benzamidoxime, which is readily obtained from 4-cyanobenzaldehyde. All these new compounds were synthesized in a high-yielding, five-step procedure with few and simple purifications.
