Intra-Aneurysmal Navigation Technique for Stenting of a Wide-Neck Basilar Aneurysm with a New Self-Expandable Stent: Technical Note

Abstract
We report the case of a 37-year-old man with a large unruptured broad-based aneurysm of the proximal basilar artery. Using an approach through the aneurysm sac across its inner wall we navigated a third generation, self-expandable, microstent system, Neuroform3, and deployed it along the aneurysm neck. Although this technique carries the risk for potential complications, it offers an alternative solution for the navigation of the NF3 stent in cases of unruptured wide-necked aneurysms.
Key words
navigation - Neuroform 3 - basilar artery - aneurysm - microstent system
