3 – 5% aller Feten befinden sich am Entbindungstermin in Beckenendlage (BEL). Seit den Ergebnissen des Term Breech Trial diskutieren wir den sichersten Weg für die Entbindung. Es ist oft kaum noch Erfahrung im Umgang mit vaginaler Beckenendlagengeburt oder äußerer Wendung vorhanden und wird auch nicht weitergegeben. Einer allgemein angestiegenen Sectiorate steht der Wunsch vieler Frauen nach Sicherheit, aber auch nach selbstbestimmter Geburt entgegen.
