Melodische Intonationstherapie – MIT

Die Melodische Intonationstherapie (MIT) macht sich die musikalische Aktivierung überlappender und bi-hemisphärischer Areale bei der Therapie von Sprachstörungen nach linkshemisphärischem Schlaganfall (Aphasie) zunutze, um über sie die (teilweise) geschädigten Sprachareale zu reaktivieren und Sprechen/Sprache wieder zu ermöglichen.

Fazit

Die MIT besteht mit Singen-Sprechgesang-Sprechen aus drei Therapiephasen. Die Methode berücksichtigt Aspekte des motorischen Lernens. Für ihre Wirksamkeit insbesondere bei nicht-flüssiger Aphasie gibt es Evidenzen in vielen Sprachen, sie wirkt besonders gut in der Akutphase und sie ermöglicht Verbesserungen beim Nachsprechen und in der funktionalen Kommunikation bei aphasisch-apraktischen Sprecher*innen.
