Zusammenfassung
Fritz Buchthals Beitrag zur Elektromyographie (EMG) ist fundamental. Als eines
der Fundamente der quantitativen EMG gilt aber auch, dass die Dauer der
Aktionspotenziale von 20 verschiedenen motorischen Einheiten zu messen sei, um
quantitativ EMG zu betreiben. Dieser Ansatz ist schon aus theoretischen
Erwägungen nicht sinnvoll, nicht nur des großen damit
verbundenen Aufwands wegen. Durch Messung nur weniger motorischer Einheiten, die
deutlich außerhalb der Norm liegen, der
„Ausreißer“, ist es hingegen häufig
möglich, ohne großen Zeitaufwand und zuverlässig
belastbare EMG-Befunde zu erheben.
Abstract
Fritz Buchthal’s contributions to electromyography are of fundamental
value. It is widely accepted that for carrying out an adequate quantitative
electromyography study, it is necessary to measure the duration of action
potentials of 20 different motor units. It is not only for theoretical reasons
that this approach is not reasonable. Instead, by measuring a few motor units,
which are clearly outside the range of the normal, designated as
“outliers”, it is possible to reach reliable electromyography
findings.
