Significance
A copper-catalyzed enantioselective intramolecular aminooxygenation of alkenes is described. The nature of the protecting group on nitrogen is important, giving the best results with the tosyl group. The scope is broad and includes a variety of substrates, yielding indolines and pyrrolidines in good yields and moderate to good enantioselectivities.
