Versorgungsnetzwerke für innovative Immuntherapien

Zusammenfassung

Monoklonale Antikörper erweitern das Therapiespektrum in der Behandlung von Patienten mit Multipler Sklerose. Weitere Zulassungen innovativer Immuntherapien sind in naher Zukunft zu erwarten. Aufgrund der steigenden Zahl von PML-Fällen, des Risikos anaphylaktischer Reaktionen sowie hoher Therapiekosten bei der Anwendung von Natalizumab sind besondere Anforderungen nicht nur an die Organisations- und Prozessstandards der durchführenden Einrichtungen, sondern auch an die Kooperationsqualität der Zentren zu stellen. Auf Initiative der DMSG und der neurologischen Berufsverbände wird hiermit ein Vorschlag zur Gründung von Versorgungsnetzwerken für innovative Immuntherapien unterbreitet, der Patienten den Zugang zu diesen Therapien bei höchstmöglicher Sicherheit bieten soll.

Abstract

Monoclonal antibodies have extended the therapeutic options in the treatment of patients with multiple sclerosis. Further approvals of innovative immune therapies are expected in the near future. Due to the increasing numbers of cases of PML in natalizumab patients and the risk of hypersensitivity reactions as well as the high therapy costs, there is not only a need to define standards regarding organisational and process quality in treating centres, but also to create standards that direct the cooperation between the centres. On the initiative of the German MS Society (DMSG) and the Neurologists Associations, the following proposal is being presented concerning the creation of networks for medical care with innovative immune therapies. These networks have the purpose to help patients obtain access to novel therapies and ensure at the same time the best possible safety.
