Hantavirusassoziiertes Guillain-Barré-Syndrom

Zusammenfassung

Wir berichten über eine 49-jährige Patientin, die sich mit einem Guillain-Barré-Syndrom (GBS) vorstellte. Laborchemisch zeigte sich eine akute Niereninsuffizienz, die ursächlich durch eine akute Nephritis erklärt werden konnte. Außerdem wurde eine Perikarditis diagnostiziert. In der Infektionsserologie konnte eine Infektion mit Hantavirus vom Puumala-Typ nachgewiesen werden. Aufgrund der starken Zunahme der Hantavirusinfektionen ist bei einem GBS auch dieses differenzialdiagnostisch in Erwägung zu ziehen.

Abstract

We report the case of a 49-year-old woman who presented with a Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). The patient had reduced kidney function and pericarditis. Blood tests showed positive antibodies against Hantavirus, which indicated an acute infection. As there is a steep rise in Hantavirus infections, this condition should also be considered as a possible trigger factor for GBS.
