Zusammenfassung
Lupus ist die klassische systemische Autoimmunerkrankung und zählt zu den seltenen Erkrankungen, beide Tatsachen bestimmen diese Ausführungen. Daraus ergibt sich nämlich, dass es einerseits nicht leicht ist, diese vielschichtige Erkrankung zu verstehen und zu behandeln und dass es andererseits nur begrenzte wissenschaftlich gesicherte Informationen für SLE-Patienten gibt. Die Lupus Erythematodes Selbsthilfegemeinschaft e. V. versteht sich als die bundesweite Interessenvertretung der Lupus-PatientInnen in Deutschland und verbessert auf vielfältige Weise die Versorgung der Lupus PatientInnen. Der folgende Beitrag möchte deutlich machen, dass die Lupus Erythematodes Selbsthilfegemeinschaft eine für Betroffene wie für Behandler unverzichtbare Säule im heutigen Gesundheitssystem ist.
Abstract
Lupus erythematosus is the classical systemic autoimmune disease. At the same time, lupus is a rare disease. Both facts will impact on the following considerations. The consequences are a difficulty in understanding the variability of disease manifestations on the one hand and the limited scientific information for SLE patients on the other hand. The German Lupus Erythematodes Selbsthilfegemeinschaft (self-help association) represents the interests of lupus patients all over Germany and aims at improving the health care of SLE patients. This article is intended to stress the importance of the lupus erythematosus self-help association in the context of the German health system.
