Die DCCT (Diabetes Control and Complications Trial) und die Nachbeobachtungstudie der DCCT-Kohorte EDIC (Epidemiology of Diabetes Interventions and Complications) hatten schon vor Jahren gezeigt, dass sich die konsequente Senkung des HbA_1c-Wertes prognostisch günstig auswirkt. Jetzt wurden Langzeitergebnisse der DCCT / EDIC-Kohorte veröffentlicht.
