I want to thank Dr. William Pederson for serving as a co-guest editor of this edition of Seminars in Plastic Surgery with me and the excellent group of authors who contributed to this issue on “Pediatric Plastic Surgical Procedures.”
Dr. Pederson is a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in both plastic surgery and orthopaedic surgery. He received his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and his plastic surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He did a fellowship in hand surgery at the University of Louisville Health Science Center in Louisville, Kentucky, and a fellowship in microsurgery research at St. Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.
Dr. Pederson specializes in hand reconstruction, hand trauma, brachial plexus repair, and lower limb reconstruction. He is a member of several Society/Association boards and is the President-Elect and the Scientific Program Chair 2016 for the American Association for Hand Surgery. He is a director of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He serves on the International Editorial Board of the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery and on the Scientific Editorial Board of the Journal of Hand Surgery (American).
