Versteht man die Literaturrecherche als eine gehobene Dienstleistung, für die ein
echtes Bedürfnis vorliegt und der Bedarf sich ständig ausweitet, so kann letzterer
von einer Organisation rational und rationell nur befriedigt werden durch teilweise
Dezentralisation der Sucharbeit, durch einen hohen Grad an Arbeitsteiligkeit im eigenen
Organisationsbereich, durch klare, den Arbeitsablauf regelnde Anweisungen sowie durch
Anwendung technisch hochentwickelter Dokumentationsverfahren. Neben die Inhaltsanalyse
des Suchauftrags, wodurch die Suchstrategie festgelegt wird, tritt die Bedarfsanalyse,
wodurch Art und Umfang der nachzuweisenden Dokumente sowie die Methode des Suchverfahrens
bestimmt werden. Klassische, mechanische und elektronische Recherchen bestehen gleichberechtigt
nebeneinander und ergänzen sich im Einzelfalle in geeigneter Kombination. Literaturnachweis
und Literaturbeschaffung können für eine rationelle Erledigung weder örtlich noch
organisatorisch getrennt werden. Apparative und bibliothekarische Ausstattung der
Dokumentationsstelle ist ausschließlich am Bedarf zu orientieren und diesem ständig
anzupassen.
If one understands literature searches as a higher grade service for which there is
a genuine need and continually growing demand, then an organization can only satisfy
the latter reasonably and rationally with a partial decentralization of retrieval,
a high degree of work distribution within one’s own organization, clear instructions
which regulate the work process, as well as the utilization of technically highly
developed documentation methods. To the contents analysis of the search order, laying
down the searching strategy, is added the requirements analysis, determining kind
and amount of the documents necessary and the retrieval technique. Classical, mechanical
and electronic retrieval procedures exist side by side with the same rights and in
some cases supplement each other in suitable combination. For rational work, providing
references to literature and procuring literature cannot be separated locally or organizationally.
Deciding on machine and library facilities for the documentation unit has to be guided
by necessity only and has to be continually adapted to it.
