Entzündliche Erkrankungen des Pankreas werden bei der Katze mit zunehmender Häufigkeit festgestellt. Retrospektive pathologische Studien haben seit den 90er Jahren auf eine hohe Inzidenz von Pankreatitiden bei der Katze hingewiesen [[4], [9], [11]]. Durch die Verbesserung spezifischer labordiagnostischer Tests sowie die Weiterentwicklung von Ultraschallsystemen werden Pankreatitiden bei Katzen zunehmend effektiver klinisch diagnostiziert [[8], [19], [23]].
