Abstract
Paraneoplastic dermatoses are nonmalignant skin disorders that have strong associations with visceral malignancies. Although these skin diseases are relatively rare, the recognition of them may lead to the early diagnosis of the underlying tumour and determine a better prognosis. This review describes paraneoplastic cutaneous manifestations closely associated with internal malignancies, which include thrombophlebitis migrans, acanthosis nigricans maligna, acrokeratosis paraneoplastica, erythema gyratum repens, erythema necroticans migrans, hypertrichosis lanuginosa acquisita, and paraneoplastic pemphigus. A short updated knowledge on the pathogenesis of these conditions is also presented.
