Zusammenfassung

„Der Mann ist mehr als nur ein Ejakulat!“

Bei Infertilität eines Paares ist eine ausführliche Diagnostik auch des Mannes indiziert, um eine individualisierte (Paar-)Therapie der Fertilitätsstörung anbieten zu können. In vielen Fällen lässt sich dadurch nicht nur der Einsatz von assistierten reproduktiven Techniken umgehen, sondern es lassen sich ursächliche Pathologien erkennen und therapieren, was auch für die Gesamtgesundheit des Mannes entscheidend sein kann – die Fertilität als Seismograf der Gesamtgesundheit des Mannes.

Eine frühzeitige andrologische Diagnostik eines jeden Mannes, analog zu den gynäkologischen Vorsorgeuntersuchungen, ist wünschenswert, um ggf. Präventivmaßnahmen zu ermöglichen.

Lifestylefaktoren haben einen großen Einfluss auf die Fertilität.
