Hydroboration of hindered allylic ethers (methoxymethyl, tert-butyldimethylsilyl) and an acetate efficiently gives reduced alcohol products, which are presumed to arise from hydroboration, ß-boron oxygen elimination, a second hydroboration and oxidative boron replacement.
