Unsymmetrical tin(II) amides were synthesized by addition of one equivalent of a secondary N,N-dialkylamine to bis(bistrimethylsilyl) amino tin(II). Treatment of aldehydes or ketones with these unsymmetrical tin(II) amides resulted in formation of the corresponding N,N-dialkyl enamines.
