Aryltrialkyltins derived from aryl halides have been found to cross-couple with trifluoroacetic anhydride in the presence of a palladium(0) catalyst. This method provides a chemoselective alternative to existing processes that rely upon organolithium bases, or electrochemical apparatus for the generation of aryltrifluoromethyl ketones.
