Traumatisierung von Frauen im Lebenszyklus

Zusammenfassung

Der Artikel macht aufmerksam auf verschiedene Formen von Traumatisierung und struktureller Gewalt, denen insbesondere Frauen im Verlauf ihres Lebens ausgesetzt sind. Die für einzelne Lebensabschnitte - frühe Kindheit, spätere Kindheit, Adoleszenz, Erwachsenenalter und Alter - charakteristischen Traumatisierungen werden einzeln beschrieben und diskutiert. Fallbeispiele von Patientinnen werden geschildert, deren Lebensgeschichte typische Traumata einschließlich ihrer Folgen illustriert. Daran anknüpfend werden Schlussfolgerungen gezogen für eine frauengerechte medizinische Behandlung und Psychotherapie. Möglichkeiten zur Prävention von Gewalt werden angesprochen und die Notwendigkeit von Forschung wird betont.

Consequences for Medical Care Meeting the Needs of Women

The article calls attention to diverse types of traumatisation and structural violence to which women are particularly exposed in the course of their lives. Characteristic forms of traumatisation are described and discussed for different periods of life: early childhood, later childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age. Case studies depict patients whose life stories illustrates typical forms of traumatisation, including the consequences. Finally, conclusions are drawn with regard to the demands on psychotherapy and medical treatment which taking the specific needs of women into account. Possibilities preventing violence are addressed, and the necessity of research is emphasised.
