Pancreatic Pseudocyst Caused by Valproic Acid: Case Report and Review of the Literature

Abstract
The author reports one case of pseudocyst of the pancreas, an uncommon disorder in children, secondary to pancreatitis in a 9-year-old girl treated with valproic acid for epilepsy.
Résumé
Les auteurs rapportent un cas de pseudokyste du pancréas. Il s'agit d'une situation rarement observée chez l'enfant. Ce pseudokyste était secondaire à une pancréatite survenue chez une fille de 9 ans, traitée pour une épilepsie par l'acide valproïque.
Resumen
Los autores presentan un caso poco frecuente en niños de pseudoquiste pancreático secundario a pancreatitis que apareció en una niña de 9 años tratada de epilepsia con ácido valproíco.
Zusammenfassung
Ein 9-jähriges Mädchen wurde wegen Epilepsie mit Valproinsäure behandelt. Es entwickelte sich in der Folge eine Pankreatitis, die wiederum zu einer Pankreaspseudozyste führte. Dieser ungewöhnliche Fall und Krankheitsverlauf wird vorgestellt.
