Diagnostik und Therapiestrategien bei Lymphomen

Zusammenfassung

In der Erforschung, Klassifikation und Behandlung maligner Lymphome und Leukämien sind in den letzten Jahren wesentliche Fortschritte erzielt worden. Klinische Phase-III-Studien ermöglichen, aufbauend auf diesen Erkenntnissen, die Verbesserung bisheriger Therapieschemata auf der Basis rationaler Konzepte. Solche Therapieoptimierungsstudien verbessern zudem durch ihre Einbeziehung zahlreicher onkologischer Zentren und Praxen die Etablierung von auf breiter Basis anerkannten Therapiestandards. Zudem bieten die Studienzentralen den teilnehmenden Zentren wie auch rat- und hilfesuchenden Patienten und Angehörigen die Möglichkeit, jederzeit über aktuelle Entwicklungen informiert zu sein wie auch sachkundige Hilfe bei schwierigen Therapieentscheidungen zu suchen. Die Kompetenznetze Lymphome und Leukämien des BMBF wie die Förderung der Deutschen Krebshilfe haben in den letzten Jahren durch Studienunterstützung und Informationsvernetzung von Spezialisten in Klinik und Praxis, hausärztlich tätigen Kollegen und den Patientenselbsthilfegruppen zu einer wesentlichen Verbesserung der Versorgung dieser Patienten beigetragen.

Summary

In the past years, substantial progress has been achieved in the research, classification and treatment of malignant lymphoma. Based on this knowledge, Clinical Phase III studies facilitate the improvement of hitherto therapy schemes in line with rational concepts. Such therapy optimizing studies help in improving the establishment of acknowledged therapy standards across the board, besides the incorporation of several oncological centres and practices. Moreover, the study centres offer the participating centres, as well as patients and their relatives seeking help and advice, unrestricted possibility of accessing information about current development as well as expert assistance in making difficult therapy decisions. The leukaemia and lymphoma competence network of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the support of the German Cancer Help (Deutsche Krebshilfe e.V.) have in the past years contributed to the substantial improvement of patient care through study support and information network of specialists, colleagues in general practice and the patient self-help groups.
