Harninkontinenz - Diagnostik

Harninkontinenz ist definiert als Unfähigkeit, den Harn willkürlich zurückzuhalten. Sie wird nicht als Krankheit, sondern als Symptom verschiedener Erkrankungen gesehen. Vor allem bei älteren Patienten tritt eine Harninkontinenz selten isoliert auf. Sie ist häufig assoziiert mit zerebralen Durchblutungsstörungen, eingeschränkter physischer Mobilität, rezidivierenden Infekten und chronischen obstruktiven Lungenkrankheiten [7]. Eine besondere Bedeutung haben auch Stoffwechselerkrankungen wie der Diabetes mellitus.
