Schon jetzt ist das Gros der Krankenhäuser auf einen Massenanfall von Verletzten und Erkrankten nicht vorbereitet. In vielen Fällen fehlen die dafür erforderlichen Katastrophenpläne, die gesetzlich vorgeschrieben sind. Durch die geplante Einführung der DRGs werden die Kapazitäten stationärer Einrichtungen der Gesundheitsversorgung reduziert. Nach Einführung der DRGs werden 20-30 % der Krankenhäuser in ihrer finanziellen Existenz gefährdet sein.
Summary
Currently, most hospitals are not in the state of preparation needed to cope with a sudden massive influx of injured or sick patients. In many cases, the necessary plans for dealing with major disasters as required by law, are lacking. In consequence of the introduction of DRGs. the capacity of hospital facilities for medical care will be further reduced, and the financial situation of some 20-30 % of hospitals will approach the point at which their very existence is endangered.
