The involvement of the head and neck can occur in 25 to 45% of patients with burn
injuries. Unfortunately, scalp burns can result in significant burn alopecia. The
management of these problems depends on the location and extent of the alopecia. Tissue

problem with acceptable complication rates. The results of correction of burn alopecia
with tissue expansion are an important part of our surgical strategy in the aesthetic
reconstruction of cicatricial alopecia.
