Abstract
Due to permanent vomiting and extreme loss of weight a 36-year-old man got a esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy. The investigastion showed a massive giant fold gastritis mostly in the corpus region. A malignant disease could be excluded with full-thickness mucosal biopsy obtained with a loop. Because of the initially positive reaction of the urease test and the positive serology for Helicobacter pylori an Italian-Triple-Therapy was started to eradicate the H. p. although the Helicobacter could not be found histologically. This therapy lead to the complete remission of the giant fold gastritis and a return to good health.
