Bewertung und Planung ergotherapeutischer Interventionsstudien mithilfe des CONSORT-Statements

Zusammenfassung

Einleitung: Zur Umsetzung der Ergebnisse internationaler Interventionsstudien in die Praxis der deutschsprachigen Ergotherapie müssen derartige Untersuchungen systematisch bewertet und in den Arbeitskontext von Therapeuten aus Österreich, Schweiz und Deutschland übertragen werden. Die Autoren erklären das CONSORT-Statement - eine etablierte Checkliste zur Bewertung kontrollierter Studien - und seine Bedeutung für die Ergotherapie.

Methode: Die 22 Items der Checkliste werden vorgestellt und anhand von für die Ergotherapie relevanten Beispielen und Literatur erklärt.

Ergebnisse: Das CONSORT-Statement stellt eine strukturierte Hilfe für die systematische Bewertung und die Planung ergotherapeutischer Interventionsstudien dar. Die Checkliste ist biomedizinischen Ursprungs und legt den Fokus auf die forschungsmethodische Qualität einer Untersuchung.

Schlussfolgerung: Bei der Planung und Bewertung ergotherapeutischer Interventionsstudien sollte das CONSORT-Statement als Checkliste routinemäßig Anwendung finden. Zusätzlich sind sozialwissenschaftliche und ergotherapiespezifische Aspekte zu berücksichtigen.

Abstract

Introduction: International clinical trials must be evaluated systematically and transferred into the conceptual context of Austrian, Swiss and German occupational therapists in order to implement evidence-based occupational therapy practice in German speaking countries. The authors explain the CONSORT Statement - an established checklist for the evaluation of controlled studies - and its importance for occupational therapy.

Method: The 22 items of the checklist are portrayed and explained by means of examples and literature relevant for occupational therapy.

Results: The CONSORT Statement represents a structured method for planning and systematic evaluation of occupational therapy clinical trials. It has its seeds in biomedicine and focusses on research methodological quality of studies.

Conclusion: Planning and evaluating of clinical trials in occupational therapy should be based on the CONSORT-Statement, but also considerate social science and occupational therapy specific aspects.
