Zusammenfassung

Wir berichten über eine 76jährige Patientin, die nach monatelangen Rückenschmerzen plötzlich ein Querschnittssyndrom entwickelte und wenige Tage später verstarb.

Aufgrund osteolytischer Wirbelsäulenveränderungen wurde eine Kompressionsmyelopathie durch einen blastomatösen Prozeß vermutet.

Die Obduktion ergab jedoch ein riesiges Aneurysma spurium der Aorta thoracalis, das zu einer Wirbelkörperdestruktion und Kompression des Rückenmarks geführt hatte.

Summary

We report on a female patient of 76 years who suddenly developed a transverse spinal cord syndrome after months of low back pain and died a few days later.

Because of vertebral body erosion a compression of spinal cord by a blastomatous process was suspected.

Autopsy however revealed a giant aneurysm spurium of the descending thoracic aorta leading to bone destruction and compression of spinal cord.
