Medikamentöse Therapie von Hypophysentumoren

Zusammenfassung

Für die Behandlung des zahlenmäßig häufigsten Hypophysentumors, des Prolaktinoms, stehen glücklicherweise bereits sehr potente medikamentöse Therapieformen zur Verfügung. Im Gegensatz dazu fehlen für die übrigen Hypophysentumoren, für die hormoninaktiven für die anderen hormonaktiven Tumoren bislang noch überzeugende medikamentöse Therapiekonzepte. Lediglich für den zweithäufigsten Hypophysentumor, den Wachstumshormon-produzierenden Tumor, lassen sich Ansatzpunkte für eine Verbesserung der medikamentösen Einflußmöglichkeiten erkennen.

Summary

Fortunately very potent drug treatment courses are already available for treating the numerically most frequent pituitary tumour, namely, prolactinoma. In contrast, convincing drug therapy concepts are still lacking for the other pituitary tumours, for the hormone-inactive and other hormone-active tumours. It is only for the second most frequent pituitary tumour - the growth-promoting tumour - that we can recognise approaches towards improving the possibilities of influencing the course of the disease by drugs.
