Zusammenfassung
24 Stunden Serumkonzentrationsprofile bei erwachsenen Patienten mit abendlicher Einmalgabe Monotherapie von Carbamazepin retard werden in einem intraindividuellen Vergleich während Cross over verschiedener slow release-Präparate verglichen. Die Mittelwertsprofile von Tegretal retard und im Handel befindlichem optimiertem Timonil retard verhalten sich weitgehend ähnlich. Bei Einmalgabe um 20 Uhr abends liefern die 8 Uhr-Morgenwerte wichtige Hinweise für das Maximum in 24 Stunden und die 19 bis 20 Uhr-Werte für das Minimum. Die chronopharmakologische Analyse zeigt einen leichten Konzentrationsanstieg um 8 Uhr morgens (»8 Uhr-swing«).
Summary
24 hour profiles of serum concentrations of adult patients with a single daily monotherapy of carbamezepine retard (given in the evening) are compared during cross over with different carbamazepine slow release preparations. The 24-hour mean profile of Tegretal retard and optimized Timonil retard are quite similar. Measurements of 8 a. m. serum concentrations yield important pointers to the maximum of 24 hour serum concentrations, and the 7 or 8 p. m. values to the minimum of 24 hour serum concentrations. The chronopharmacological analysis shows a slight increase of serum concentrations at 8 a. m. (»8 o'clock swing«).
