Zusammenfassung
Wir berichten über 2 türkischstämmige Patienten, die während bzw. im Anschluss an das durch Duschen mit warmem Wasser regelhaft das Bewusstsein verloren, bzw. komplexe unwillentliche Handlungen vollzogen, epileptische Anfälle erlitten. Bei beiden Patienten gelang die Provokation im stationären Verlauf epileptischer Anfälle mit warmem Wasser hervorzurufen. Zusammen mit der ethnischen Herkunft der Patienten diagnostizierten wir in beiden Fällen eine „Warmwasser”-Reflexepilepsie und konnten diese erfolgreich antikonvulsiv behandeln.
Abstract
We report on 2 young patients of Turkish origin who experienced during the preceding years complex-focal epileptic episodes while taking showers. During exploration these seizures could be evoked by hot water supporting the diagnosis of a „hot-water” reflex epilepsy. Both patients were successfully treated with anticonvulsants.
