An Unusual Case of Segmental Dilatation of the Sigmoid Colon

Abstract

An unusual case of segmental dilatation of the colon (SDC) with a broad membranous bridge in the distal part of the dilated bowel is presented. To our knowledge, this association has not been previously reported and might provide further insight into the underlying etiology of SDC.

Zusammenfassung

Ein ungewöhnlicher Fall von segmentaler Dilatation des Kolon mit einer breiten membranösen Brücke im distalen Anteil des dilatierten Dickdarmsegments wird vorgestellt. Unseres Wissens nach ist diese Assoziation bisher nicht beschrieben worden und könnte der Aufklärung der diesem Krankheitsbild zugrundeliegenden Ätiologie dienen.
