Abstract
The aim of this article was to consider a pathological similimum for the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). The primary defect in AIDS is in lymphocytes, therefore an agent which acts on lymphocytes might be useful in the homœopathic treatment of AIDS.
In this article AIDS, its immunology and clinical presentation, are compared with the toxicological and haematological actions of Phytolacca americana, and finally with the homœopathic materia media of Phytolacca.
Phytolacca americana does not appear to be specifically homœopathic to the pathology of AIDS. The materia medica of Phytolacca however shares some important features with the clinical presentation of AIDS.
